Disability Access Policy

Joanna North Associates Ltd – Adoption Support Agency

Updated June 2020

It is our intention that our offices and premises should be accessible to all who use our service including those with disability or who are in need of extra support.  Disability can take many forms from physical impairment, hearing and sight difficulties or learning and comprehension difficulties.  Also included are vulnerabilities with mental health.  Please let us know as soon as you can about any special needs you may have.  We want you to feel included in our service.

If you have difficulty in accessing our office through any disability, please let us know and we will ensure that suitable door to door transport can be organized for you.  For example, if you have any anxiety disorder or impaired learning and find new venues hard to negotiate.

Our office in Leeds is on the ground floor with parking outside.  Much of our work is conducted through Skype and telephone and so you may not need to come to our office.  If you do, we will ensure you have access.  Please make us aware of your needs as soon as you can.

We can produce our policies in spoken word for anyone with poor sight.

Please let us know if we need to help you with hearing impairment as soon as you can as much of our work is conducted over the phone.

We can support you to understand our policies through pictures if you have learning difficulties.  We can produce the policies on colored paper to help people with dyslexia.

If you have a learning difficulty or difficulty with comprehension or understanding, we will ensure that we work alongside someone of your choice in order to help you. We hope you will be happy in using our service and please give us feedback if there is any aspect of our service that can be improved for serving people with disability.
